Medical Assistant Schools in Delaware

Delaware is the one of the smallest states in our country, but it provides some of the biggest opportunities for medical assistants. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics lists Delaware as being in the highest range for medical assistant salaries, with the average pay being between $32,400 and $39,610. Delaware ranks in the lowest tier of medical assistant employment, with between 40 and 2,080 medical assistants currently working in the state. While this may seem low, one must consider the overall size and population of the state. When you consider the number of medical assistants employed per thousand jobs, Delaware ranks very high among other states.

The first step toward becoming a Delaware medical assistant is to get a quality education. When choosing a program, find one that is accredited through the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). This accreditation proves that the program meets rigorous curriculum and training standards and provides student eligibility to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant examination. Currently, there is only one accredited program in the state of Delaware.
